At our PACK WALKS, you will get to practice the LIFE CHANGING DOG TRAINING™ to help your dogs learn to acclimate to process their emotions by communicating through the leash. You will get to practice around distractions of other dogs and humans which is an entirely different experience for your dog versus walking alone. There is a shift in energy that you can feel and see in the dog's behavior and attitude. We believe that walking together meets the innate need that dogs and humans have to belong a pack.
By communicating ON LEASH with your dogs through the COMMUNICATIVE LEASHWORK PROCESS® you will start to see your dog's behavior change. Pack walks allow a dog to experience that sense of belonging with other dogs. The walks are also a great opportunity for a dog to practice their socialization skills such as meeting or passing other dogs and people, and not reacting, behaving well on leash, and experiencing a variety of locations, environments, and situations.
Pack walks are an especially good place to start for dogs who are on the shy, timid, or anxious side as it gives them a chance to meet other dogs whom they may be able to play with off-leash with someday. If that is too hefty of a goal for your dog, then just learning to tolerate being in the presence other dogs is a great achievement and helps makes your walks a more peaceful experience.
It is a good place to start for dog owners if their dogs cannot be off leash to be able to provide them with a pack. For people, a pack walk is not only a good chance to get some fresh air and exercise, spend some time with your dog, and work on your dog's socialization, but it is also a great way to meet people yourself! It is so nice to be able to connect with other dog-lovers who can certainly relate to what you are going through!
Pack Walks held the first Saturday of the month during March-Dec weather permitting. The pack walks are a suggested $25 DONATION but you are welcome to donate any amount. Your support and contributions help us to help more animals and humans in our community. All donations from our pack walks go to our non-profit Midwest Animal Welfare Society!
